Views, entrecard drops and more

We are working on an easier way to vote for stories. Look for that to come online this week. Hopefully!.

We also have had some visitors ask us what the “views” mean. Well since our name is Entreview we figured that people would be more interested in how many views (Actual “Views” of their sites and possible conversions to Entrecard “drops”) then how many votes there were.

Of course, votes do matter a lot becuase the more votes your story has the higher you rise in the Top posts in each category which increases your chances of being viewed and dropped on.

BTW if you don’t have an Entrecard widget, you really need one. Go get one here.

In the example below, you can see the two ways to gauge your post.

• The first is by VIEWS. This counts how many people have clicked through to your site and potentially have “Dropped” on you.
• The second is by VOTES. This counts how many people have liked your site enough to boost it in the rankings. This is good because the higher you are the better your chances of getting “dropped” on.

Look for improvements to both in the short term!

entre blog

Welcome to the Entreview blog. In the coming weeks we will be working on prettying-up the blog, but for now our concentration is focused on the social blog aggregator section of our site. We have been working hard behind the scenes and it is beginning to show results. It appears that we have leapt into the Alexa standings with a good representation in only 3 weeks.

We also recognize that Alexa only measures people with the Alexa toolbar installed and so is very skewed. But hey the graphs are kinda cool and anything that helps us burn through the midnight hours to improve the code is worth it.

Of course our Google PR is in the toilette with a rating of zero and they are still penalizing us for who knows what, but things at Entrecard have been good. We have been getting good traffic from them and people seem enthused to contribute to our site and build up their own sites. Keep it coming.
